The First Days: Coping with Life After Loss (2nd Edition of The First Days)

Two years ago, we published our first book called The First Days. Since then, we have heard from all of you and learned more along our journey. So, we decided to revise and add to our book and create a second edition. These revisions were created with all of you in mind and in hopes that it will assist those who are in the early stages of the grief journey. In this book, you will find:

  • An updated look and a more descriptive title
  • More journal pages for processing all the emotions
  • New sections to address the topics you sent us

Those first days after losing your spouse are challenging, to say the very least. This book is intended to help guide you through that time and allow you a place to record your emotions, thoughts, and needs.

The difficulty of losing a spouse often leaves us looking for resources. We’ve updated and created this workbook to allow you to wade through those challenging first days. Additionally, we will be publishing an in-depth journal that will support you further in your journey. This journal will cover many of the grief topics and emotions that we face as a widow/widower. Look for this journal to be here before the New Year.

Our best piece of advice? Take the time to breathe. Yes, just breathe. Everything else will come in its time.

While nobody ever wants to be a widow/widower, it is something we must handle once it comes to us. We hope this book and the future journal will provide solace and peace as you enter into this unchartered territory of your life.

The Kindle eBook and paperback versions are available for ordering through Amazon – click the cover page image to order.

If you’d like to host a book talk, signing or workshop, Jeni and Teresa would be delighted to share  and talk to your group.

From one of our Readers:

“Valuable, Timely, Immediately Useful

Valuable as in Valid – this is so representative of the real experiences of Teresa & Jeni. It will be a joy to share.

While I do not know Jeni, I am so grateful she and Teresa have been able to navigate their ways forward with such mutual support.

Timely – I’ve a hunch all of these contents will be conceptually transferable to other forms of sudden and/or unexpected loss.

My sense is it is Immediately Useful – and Timeless.

It was healing to me to read it because it is so thoughtful and encouraging there IS passage through.”
— Sherry Lowery
