Everyday Oils
By Jo Ann Paynter
In our busy and, often, frenetic lives, we don’t always take the time to minister to ourselves. When dealing with a trauma or tragedy, we can lose our perspective on life. Medication is often prescribed to help get us through these times. However, there are other ways to deal with difficulties in life. Perhaps the best way is to “get physical”! Getting the blood flowing helps reduce stress, blood pressure, blood glucose. Another way is to join a therapy club…even if that’s a few friends and a few glasses of wine. The additions to my life that I use every day are Young Living Essential Oils. Yes, I know, they seem to be a fad right now, but they are not a fad!
Young Living has been the first – over 20 years – and leading producer of essential oils, guaranteeing the quality product from “seed-to-seal”! No other oils company does that. Our oils are therapeutic grade…the finest available. Majority of them can be ingested. A drop of Peppermint in your morning coffee? Or in your evening hot chocolate? Delicious!
Lemon oil, when applied with a soft cloth, will remove wax furniture rings, to say nothing of flavoring your water, supporting your immune system and when diffused, makes your bathroom smell like you’ve just cleaned! Love that!
Trauma comes in many ways, and our stress levels build. Two oils I’ve found that help me relax are Frankincense and Pine. I diffuse them when I meditate, apply to the palms of my hands for inhaling, and even use them in my car on cotton balls placed in the vents….I believe they help me avoid road rage…well, at least a little! Frankincense was offered to Jesus upon His birth! It’s been considered valuable for thousands of years. It has a potent aroma which can help with meditation, relaxation and stress management. Pine, of course, you know how fresh it makes our homes smell. Even your husband knows you’ve cleaned! And for those of you gentlemen, it is a fresh but masculine smell that is always welcome to guests and even pets!
Consider making Young Living Essential Oils a daily part of your life. Oils are mentioned in the bible, often for anointing – we simply apply to the skin – and for offering help and kindness to others. Apply that kindness to yourself, and see the positive effects they have on you and those you love.
