If you follow our blog, you might have noticed that we sometimes follow a theme around grief from time to time. Recently, we have noticed a lot of discussion about people challenging our grief and questioning various components about our journeys. So, we have decided to introduce a theme of Genuine Grief.
Why Genuine Grief? Genuine means to be authentic. It also means to be honestly felt or experienced. Grief…well, if you are reading this, you know what grief is. According to Google:
“Grief is the natural emotional response to the loss of a loved one, friend, or other significant person or event. It can include intense sadness, shock, numbness, denial, anger, and physiological distress. Grief can also cause separation anxiety, confusion, yearning, and obsessive dwelling on the past. “
We are starting a series titled Genuine Grief to assure and remind us that grief presents itself in many unique and varied ways. There are many ways we travel through grief. There is no right or wrong way.
We plan to write about the realness of our lives after loss, about the pushback/advice we receive from others, about the expectations that others have, about choosing what is right for us. We want to get into the authenticity of our grief.
We would love to have your input on what topics you’d like us to discuss or questions to answer. Please let us know how we can best support you in your grief. Contact us here.
Peace & blessings to you.
